The Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (also known as ATSE) as part of 3 yr “going public” Communications Plan wanted to renaming itself to “Applied” the with significant rebrand and a new “public focused website” with new content like Podcast etc. There also a separate from their fellows “member only” website, with member only content.
The Academy of Science is for Research Science, ATSE is for Applied Science, together they are the leading voice in STEM in Australia.
Original “Applied” visual brand concept & style by Truly Deeply Studio (TD). They created the “reporting output” and stationery/office templates (in InDesign, Word, Powerpoint), but staff found the templates could not be used or had “issues”, were missing key-things, or didn’t work/function correctly. We also found the style guide didn’t work in some digital outputs. Our new digital agency Liquorice had some issues as well. So working with internal teams I problem solved & made significant changes (modifications & fixes) and made all new templates for all type of outputs and uses.

Note these are different templates to what TD agency created.

As part of a rebrand/renaming of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering also known as ATSE to “Applied” in 2018 the STEM industry magazine previously called Focus received a redesign & name change also to “Applied”. The external print publishing agency came up with several draft designs/connects “Applied” masthead design, but unfortunately all were rejected.
-
So I came up with 5 different design ideas including this “simple semi-transparent shape concert” (similar to my REIV magazine work) and this was one of the was accepted.
-
Created the cover of the first issue of Applied magazine; and created a re-usable “Applied shape” magazine masthead.
