Fixing Mobile compatibility resulted in 86% increase in Google Search traffic
and 67% increase in website users
Environmental NFP Greenfleet was missing out significant visitor traffic and lost business as Google penalizes old websites in Google search for not being mobile friendly.
They needed only a temporary fix (4 key pages) as they had a new website getting built (launching in 6-12 months).
- Using Google Tag Manager to direct mobile devices and serve them the new mobile stylesheet (mobile version of some graphics)
- This resulted in the full website passing the Google Mobile Test.
- As a result Greenfleet stopped being penalised in Google Search.
- Update key landing pages with better SEO content (metadata page description copy) as pages were now showing up in Google Search. This improved the results even more (see the chart after 16/8/19).
- Redesign the header and footer so they are responsive and add logo fat links and updated style/colours and add to shop + donate pages.
- Fix the other website domains, so they redirectto the website.
- Clean up the website information architecture (IA) get rid of old projects, or projects not going ahead.
